Health information should be reachable by everyone. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across PickTheDoc.com.
What we have built in
- Semantic HTML with proper landmarks and a logical heading order
- A “skip to main content” link on every page
- Full keyboard operability, including the symptom finder, with visible focus indicators
- Results announced to screen readers through a live region
- Text and interface colors tested for AA contrast
- Responsive, reflowing layouts that work at 320 px and at 200% zoom
- Descriptive link text and alternative text on meaningful images
- Support for the reduced-motion preference
- No auto-playing media, carousels, or time limits
Known limitations
- The interactive symptom finder requires JavaScript. Without it, the page directs you to our static symptom guides and specialty guides, which contain the same routing information.
